Job Description

Due to continued growth and ongoing success, we are expanding our Quality Assurance function and are seeking an experienced Senior QA Test Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will take a key position in ensuring the reliability, performance, and overall quality of our core platform. You will work closely with the Platform Engineering Manager to drive and support the onboarding and verification of mobile operators for each upcoming release.

As a senior member of the QA team, you will be responsible for identifying defects, uncovering edge cases, and strengthening the robustness of the platform. You will collaborate with engineering teams to design effective test strategies, improve quality processes, and introduce efficiencies across the certification lifecycle. We are looking for someone who is passionate about emerging technologies, proactive in problem-solving, and motivated to continually elevate our quality standards.

The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of delivering high-quality software, strong technical and analytical skills, and extensive experience within fast-paced, dynamic environments. You should be hands-on, able to contribute individually, and confident in influencing best practices across teams. This role also offers opportunities to evaluate, recommend, and advocate for new tools, frameworks, and methodologies that enhance both product quality and engineering productivity.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Plan, estimate, and deliver QA and testing activities within the Scrum team, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and on-time execution.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive or high-value test scenarios, improving efficiency, consistency, and overall test coverage.
  • Conduct manual testing across mobile applications, web platforms, and APIs, validating functionality, performance, and user experience.
  • Develop, maintain, and document comprehensive test plans and test cases for both new features and existing functionality.
  • Create clear, detailed defect reports and enhancement requests, effectively communicating impact, severity, and priority to engineering teams.
  • Recommend and implement carrier-focused QA processes to ensure smooth, predictable, and successful certification cycles.
  • Support and develop junior QA engineers through mentoring, knowledge-sharing, and quality oversight, fostering a high-performing and collaborative QA team.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, support, operations) to enhance certification delivery strategies and improve overall release readiness.
  • Play a central role in shaping and growing the NetLync Certification function, contributing to structure, best practices, and long-term strategy.
  • Drive continuous improvements in software quality, certification workflows, and testing processes through data-driven insights and proactive recommendations.
  • Implement preventative measures to reduce customer-reported certification issues and strengthen product reliability.
  • Work hands-on in a fast-paced, agile, and asynchronous environment, supporting colleagues and contributing individually as needed.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional communication skills — able to work effectively and professionally with customers and distributed teams across multiple time zones, using strong asynchronous and real-time communication habits.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in product testing, quality assurance, or certification, preferably within complex or high-availability platforms.
  • Deep experience with exploratory testing, with the ability to uncover edge cases, identify unexpected behaviours, and strengthen product robustness.
  • Experience designing, authoring, and reviewing comprehensive test plans that align with product and release requirements.
  • Security testing experience is a strong advantage, particularly with modern authentication, network security, or platform-level security validation.
  • Performance and non-functional testing experience is a strong plus, including load, stress, and scalability testing.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail — able to track multiple workstreams, manage shifting priorities, and maintain clarity on deadlines and deliverables.
  • Reliable time management and prioritization, with a consistent focus on meeting team commitments and release timelines.
  • Highly collaborative approach, comfortable working closely with engineering, product, operations, and support teams.
  • Proactive, ownership-driven mindset — identifies risks early, raises concerns clearly, and regularly suggests improvements to processes, tooling, or quality practices.
