Dublin, Ireland — [17 Sep 2026]NetLync, a leader in entitlement servers, today announced that Apple's new iPhone Handoff feature in iOS is now supported by its Entitlements-as-a-Service® (EaaS®) platform, allowing mobile carriers to offer this new use case to their subscribers.

Now available with iOS 27, iPhone Handoff allows subscribers with two compatible iPhones to share a single phone number and seamlessly switch the active mobile service between devices.

iPhone Handoff key features include:

  • One Number: Allows two iPhones (a Primary and Secondary) to operate on the same cellular number without manual SIM swapping.
  • Unlock to Switch: Cellular connectivity automatically follows whichever iPhone the subscriber picks up; the line routes instantly with an on-screen "Switched to this iPhone" alert.
  • Automatic Syncing: Incoming voice calls, voicemails, messages (iMessage, RCS, SMS), and Find My location move automatically to the active device.
  • Dual-Role Structure: The main iPhone handles carrier account settings and call forwarding, while the companion iPhone shares connectivity.

Deploying iPhone Handoff via NetLync EaaS® gives carriers a powerful new way to drive revenue, unlocking companion subscription fees and second-device hardware sales while positioning their brand as a digital leader. By complementing existing Apple Watch connectivity and deepening subscriber retention, carriers can offer a complete multi-device connected ecosystem under one subscription.

Delivering zero-day support for Apple’s newest use cases highlights NetLync’s commitment to innovation and our continuous leadership in the Entitlements space,

said Christian Paul, Chief Commercial Officer at NetLync.

By making iPhone Handoff immediately accessible on EaaS®, we ensure our carrier customers can lead the market on day one, capturing new hardware and subscription revenue without facing long, complex engineering cycles.

The iPhone Handoff feature is now live on NetLync’s EaaS® developer portal, allowing carriers to integrate the use case immediately. It can be enabled alongside other features like Apple Watch, iPad, and eSIM Quick Transfer.

For carriers with existing entitlement servers, NetLync's Parallel Entitlement support allows them to deploy EaaS® for iPhone Handoff in parallel with their legacy infrastructure, requiring no rip-and-replace.
