This new feature allows Android users to stay connected even in areas without cellular coverage or Wi-Fi—crucial for communication during emergencies or in remote environments.
Through EaaS®, carriers can provision and manage access to satellite messaging services directly on supported Android devices. By leveraging device entitlements to verify eligibility, the service delivers a secure, seamless, and native experience with no need for third-party apps or external hardware. It’s a practical blend of coverage, safety, and simplicity, ensuring users stay connected when it matters most.
Service capabilities include:
- eSOS / T911: Emergency messaging with PSAP integration and real-time location sharing
- P2P Messaging: Support for RCS, MMS, SMS, and media attachments (currently in open beta)
